Iowa Wal-Marts Included in Voluntary Baby Formula Recall
Enfamil Newborn powdered baby formula with the lot number ZP1K7G is affected. Anyone with that specific lot number can exchange it at their local Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart is voluntarily recalling Enfamil Newborn powdered baby formula from 3,000 of its stores after a Missouri infant, who was fed the Wal-Mart bought product,Β died of a rare bacterial infection on Sunday.
The voluntary recall of baby formula from Walmart shelves across the nation includes Iowa stores, but a corporate spokeswoman Kayla Whaling said she couldn't say which Iowa stores were included. Store officials at both Ames Wal-Marts either said they were unaware of the issue or refused to comment Thursday.
The Lebanon Daily Record reports that the investigation continues into the death of 10-day old Avery Cornett, from a bacterial disease known as Cronobacter sakazakii, which can sometimes be found in contaminated baby formula.

"Out of an abundance of caution, we have removed the remaining product from that store's shelves and we are also notifying all other stores across the country to remove product of the same lot number as well," Walmart spokesperson Dianna Gee told The Daily Record.
Wal-Martβs recall is voluntary, and was not requested by the federal government. The formulaβs maker, Mead Johnson Nutrition, said that the particular batch tested negative for bacteria before it was sent.

Whaling said stores received notices to remove the formula earlier this week and all should have either removed the formula or be in the process.
The lot affected was ZP1K7G. Anyone who has formula with that lot number can exchange it at Wal-Mart, Whaling said.
