Construction of the $7 million center was dependent on private fundraising.
The agricultural student learning center would be built near the Ames/Ice Arena by the corner of Mortensen Road and Gateway Hills Park Drive. It will include a 125-by-250 foot heated arena with seating for 1,000 people and room for four classrooms.
The regents will also discuss eliminating the university's bachelor of science program in insect science.
