How did the No. 10 seed Cyclones fare Sunday in their third round March Madness game against the No. 2 seed Buckeyes?

A less-than-last-second three-point shot by Ohio State ended the NCAA Tournament dreams of Iowa State basketball fans.

But the balance of power shifted at the start of the second half when the Cyclones' Chris Babb was benched with a sprained ankle. The Buckeyes pulled ahead by 10, but ISU battled back to a 75-75 tie with a minute left. Then Aaron Craft sank a three-pointer with .2 seconds left to dash Iowa State's hopes of heading to the Regional finals in Los Angeles.

An encounter earlier in the game between Craft and Iowa State freshman Georges Niang is catching Internet buzz. BigLeadSports says Niang lowered a shoulder into Craft, tried to apologize and Craft slapped Niang's hand away.

The game was played at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio and broadcast on CBS, locally on KCCI TV, Channel 8.
Ohio State is 5-0 all-time against Iowa State, the Daily reports. The last time the two teams met was in 2006 in Des Moines when the Cyclones lost 75-56.
The Cyclones, led by third-year coach Fred Hoiberg, have earned back-to-back NCAA tournament bids for the first time in 12 years, the TV station says. Iowa State beat Connecticut in last year's NCAA before falling to eventual national champion Kentucky.
