Marshalltown Runs Past Ames 56-19
Little Cyclones handed its fourth loss at the hands of swift Bobcats offense.
Ames High School scored the only points in the first quarter of Friday's football game against the Marshalltown Bobcats, but the Bobcats followed with 21 unanswered points taking control of the game 56-19.
Bobcat quarterback played as well as advertised, throwing for 520 yards on 25 completions against Ames' battered defense. After the Little Cyclones jumped ahead early, Gimbel ran for a touchdown, then connected with Tad Steffensen on touchdown passes of 31 and 67 yards.
Ames quarterback Sam Straub completed 22 passes out of 55 attempts.

The Little Cyclones play its season finale at home against the Waukee Warriors 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
