Meet the Fire Chief Finalist Tonight at Ames City Hall

Shawn Bayouth, the city's deputy fire chief for support services will hold his meet and greet tonight at City Hall.

Two out-of-state men and one internal candidate have been named as finalists for the Ames fire chief position and residents' chance to meet another candidate is tonight.

Current  Clint Petersen announced earlier this year that he will retire July 31, the end of the fiscal year. Petersen has worked for the city for 33 years.

Residents can meet Shawn Bayouth the city's Deputy Fire Chief for Support Services from 4 to 5 p.m. tonight at City Council Chambers at

Julie Huisman, Ames human resources director, said the city began its search for a new chief in April. Bayouth's meeting is the final meet and greet session.

who has previously served as the Deputy Chief for Administration in Downers Grove, Illinois and Deputy Fire Chief for Operations in Naperville, Illinois; and and Terry Welker who is the City of Scottsdale, Arizona's Executive Director of Human Resources, are the other two candidates.
