Minnesota Professor Named ISU Mechanical Engineering Chair

Iowa State University College of Engineering has named Caroline Hayes chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

 

Caroline Hayes, who worked most recently at the University of Minnesota, has been named chair of College of Engineering's largest department: Mechanical Engineering.

Hayes will also hold the positions of professor of mechanical engineering, and Lynn Gleason Professor of Interdisciplinary Engineering. Her appointment will begin October 1, 2012.

Hayes received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. At the University of Minnesota she was the director of graduate studies for human factors and ergonomics.
