Ames Approves North Grand Plan; What Stores Do You Want to See
City Council approved a site plan for the North Grand Mall this week in the hopes of bringing more tenants. What do you want to see there?

The Council voted Tuesday to approve a site plan for the North Grand Mall, that developers said would bring new stores.
The includes bulldozing old and vacant or soon to be vacant buildings and building new retail space. GK Development has told city officials that two major stores are interested in the location, but won't give any names until fall. The thought is that after they announce plans to come in North Grand that more will follow.
The city approved an adaptive reuse plan for the mall in 2007 that never came to fruition. A new was built and the former KFC was demolished.
