Octagon Art Festival to Bring 100s of Artists, Attract 1,000s of People
Octagon Center for the Arts Festival is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday Sept. 25.
Thousands of people will walk Ames Main Street Sunday to see hundreds of artists participating in 41st Annual Octagon Art Festival, from
Last year's festival drew 14,000 people. This year artists from eight states are participating as well as special guest sculptor , of Canada, who will demonstrate his Inuit inukshuk rock sculptures in front of Sigler.
Irniq's display will be among 122 booths set up along Main Street from Clark to Duff avenues.

“Thousands of people come. It's huge. It's a great community event,” said Allyson Hileman, an education director at the Octagon Center for the Arts.
The festival includes art of all types: drawings, paintings, ceramics, photography and more, Hileman said.

The day also includes a live stage and a children's area where children will make art of their own. Admission is free.
