Panchero's Brings Back Iowa State, Iowa Burrito Contest

The school that buys the most burritos Tuesday wins.

The Iowa-Iowa State game isn't until Sept. 10, but the chain of restaurants plans to cash in on the Hawkeye-Cyclone rivalry starting Tuesday.

Panchero's in both cities --- 1310 S. Duff Ave. No. 103 in Ames and 32 S. Clinton St. in Iowa City --- will host a $1 Burrito Night Battle from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The chain that sells the most $1 burritos in the time frame wins.

The Hawkeyes won last year's contest with 1,344 burritos sold. Iowa State ate just 988.
