PHOTOS: Ames Photographer Named Best in the State

Alex McClanahan was awarded “2013 Iowa Photographer of the Year” at the Professional Photographer’s of Iowa annual convention.

Alex McClanahan was awarded first place in the wedding album category for “Kelly & Koda,” earning the Don Knopp Memorial Award for Best Wedding Entry in the state.

Alex McClanahan also received first place in the “Portrait of a Child” category for “Josephine and Theodore’s Great Adventure,” which scored a perfect 100.

McClanahan's husband Dan McClanahan finished 3rd place overall, with a first place finish in the “Group Portrait Outdoors” category for “Grandpa’s Little Helper.”

Dan McClanahan also earned a prestigious “Four for Four” award, earning merits and Distinguished Print awards for all four of his entries.
