Registered Sex Offender Arrested on Probation Revocation

A Stratford man could have his probation revoked related to a 2011 second-degree burglary conviction.

A registered sex offender who admitted to assaulting his wife and viewing pornography was arrested on a probation revocation related to a 2011 second-degree burglary conviction on Friday at the Department of Correctional Services in Ames, according to court records.

The Story County Attorney's Office and the Department of Correctional Services said Casey Allan Kraus, 29, of Stratford, violated terms of his probation and are asking that it be revoked, according to court records.

Kraus was found guilty of second-degree burglary in November 2011 and was given a suspended prison sentence with probation.

Kraus admitted to viewing pornography since March, had missed a sex offender treatment meeting, and admitted to assaulting his wife, according to court records. All were violations of the terms of his probation, records said.
