ROAD CLOSED: Main Street Construction Shuts Down Half of 500 Block.

The second phase of a Main Street construction project has closed half the 500 block to traffic.

Work began on the project to transfer water services to a newer main last week.

The transfer, storm sewer pipe and intake reconstruction and paving is expected to last about a month. Once complete crews will make the same repairs on the second half of the block up to Clark Avenue.

Sidewalks and pedestrian paths will remain open during the construction. Sidewalk reconstruction and streetscaping will take place next spring.
