Royce White Back in Iowa for Mental Health Panel

The former Iowa State Cyclones basketball star spoke at a mental health forum Thursday night at Creative Visions in Des Moines and met with Iowa legislators earlier Thursday.

Royce White, a former Iowa State Cyclones basketball standout who was drafted to the Houston Rockets in 2012, was in Iowa Thursday to discuss his struggles with mental illness.

White expected to speak at a mental health forum Thursday night at Creative Visions in Des Moines, according to KCCI Channel 8. White also joined legislators at the Capitol to discuss the forum and his plan for similar events elsewhere in the country.

White, who struggles with an anxiety disorder, played for the Iowa State men's basketball team in 2011-12. He was the 16th draft pick last June, however he had disagreements with the Rockets over how to manage his disorder, which is exacerbated by flying.
