City crews continue to provide curbside pickup throughout Ames and will be wrapping up the first pass soon. The second and final round of curbside pickup will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8. It is anticipated that crews will again start in the south and work north. After the second round is complete, the curbside pickup program is over.

For curbside pickup:

  • Property owners must place tree debris parallel to the curb
  • Debris must not be placed next to fire hydrants, electric transformers, etc.
  • Debris should be cut in lengths of no more than 8 feet
  • Remove vehicles from around the curb when crews are in the area

To get approximate locations of crews, a map is being updated regularly with crew locations. If your neighborhood is not included, continue checking for new locations.

Finally, crews assessing the integrity and stability of trees in the public rights of way have been blocking streets and sidewalks due to broken or dangling branches. It is dangerous and illegal to steal or move these barricades, and it puts others at risk if the limbs would fall.

Report broken or dangling branches in park trees or trees on the public rights of way by calling 515.239.5341 or using the Ames on the Go mobile reporting app.
