VEISHEA, 's annual student-led celebration has begun.

Today's events include a Cyclone Idol contest, an outdoor movie and athletic competitions.

A campus cookout takes place on Central Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cyclone Idol starts at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union. And an outdoor movie will be played on Central Campus at 9 p.m. If it rains the movie, "Mission Impossible 4" will move indoors to Gerdin 1148.

VEISHEA stands for the university's colleges present when the celebration was named in 1922:
