What To Do With That Christmas Tree
Christmas is over; time to dispose of that not so live tree.
The City of Ames will provide free disposal of Christmas trees at the Maintenance Shop, 1125 E. 13th Street, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 and Saturday, Jan. 7.
You should remove the ornaments, tinsel and tree stand before you bring it, the release from the city says.
Parks & Recreation will feed the trees into a wood chipper. The chips will be used in City of Ames parks.

If Ames residents can't bring their tree this weekend they can bring trees to the Parks & Recreation Maintenance Shop other times throughout the winter. The driveway will be marked with a sign.
