When Does ‘The Hobbit’ Open: Show Times, Ticket Information

From the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, here comes an Unexpected Journey.

You remember "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, right? Well, it's time now for that other giant epic of middle Earth, the latest blockbuster movie coming for the holiday season: "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" opens Dec. 14 and it's not too soon to figure out where you'll watch.

According to IMDB.com, the movie traces the story of "a curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, (who) journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug."

The fantasy film based in a land of elves, wizards and hobbits starts with midnight showings the night of Thursday, Dec. 13, with its "official" opening on Dec. 14.

Tickets for the midnight showings are available now by connecting through The Hobbit's official site or at the Cinemark Movies 12 in Ames.

They will show the film in RealD 3D 12:01am on Dec. 14; and at

11:30am, 3:15pm, 7:00pm, 10:40pm in RealD 3D and at 12:45pm, 4:30pm, 8:15pm in Digital Cinema all on Dec. 14.
