Ankeny Jaycees Honor Members and Alumni

The Ankeny Jaycees held their annual Alumni Reception on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Ankeny Golf and Country Club.

Rob Houk with Ankeny Children’s Dental received the highest honor given out by the Iowa Jaycees; the Governor’s Award by Iowa Jaycees President Tom Welchans and Ankeny Jaycees President Travis Gavin.

“Rob Houk has literally done it all for the Ankeny Jaycees, from serving on multiple Board positions to volunteering for nearly every event year in and year out, Rob exemplifies what it means to be a Jaycee,” Gavin said.

Also receiving awards were Anthony Gervais with Iowa State University and Ankeny Jaycees Alumni John Barber with Snyder and Associates receiving the Outstanding
Jaycees award for their service in the community from Ankeny Jaycees President Travis Gavin and Ankeny Jaycees Chairman Ben Banowetz.

“Anthony tirelessly gives of his time and energy to nearly every project we undertake and John Barber not only helped build the Ankeny Jaycees into the successful chapter it is today, but continues to volunteer on projects for the Jaycees as an alumni, our chapter is not nearly successful as it is without contributions form members and alumni like Anthony and John” Banowetz said.
