Learn the basics of dance in Toe Tappers or Twinkle Toes this spring! Both programs will be offered by the Ankeny Parks & Recreation Department. Girls and boys three to five years of age can participate. Participants must be of the required age before the program begins.
Toe Tappers will teach basic tap footwork and rhythm. Music will be incorporated as your child performs large motor skill movements. Tap shoes are required. The three year old class is held from 5-530 p.m. and the four and five year old class is from 5:40-6:25 p.m. Classes are held on Mondays from April 22 through June 3. The deadline is April 8 and there is no class on May 27. Toe Tappers is held at the Parks and Recreation Office, 210 S. Ankeny Blvd.
Twinkle Toes will help prepare for the basics of dance in a fun and exciting way. Soft shoes or tennis shoes are required. Classes are 30 minutes long for the three year olds and are offered at 5:15 p.m. or 6 p.m. The four and five year olds will meet for 45 minutes from 6:45-7:30 p.m. Classes are held on Wednesdays from April 24 through May 29 and are held at the Lakeside Center, 400 NW Lakeshore Drive. Registration deadline is April 10.Â

The registration fee for the three year old classes is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. The fee for the four and five year old classes is $30 for residents and $36 for non-residents. To register for either of these programs, stop by the Parks & Recreation Office at 210 South Ankeny Blvd or register online at www.ankenyiowa.gov.
