Home Builders Association and three local builders join Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to build two homes in 10 days

Local homebuilders and the Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines are partnering with Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to raise walls on two homes and give hope to low-income families seeking decent and affordable housing as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz 2012.
Local HBA Builders Jerry’s Homes, Gratias Construction and Beal Development gathered subcontractors and suppliers to obtain materials and professional labor for the build. Construction will begin Monday, Aug. 20, with both homes completed by Thursday, Aug. 30.
“We are excited to partner with builders and engage them in our work to help families in need of affordable housing,” said Lance Henning, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity executive director. “By sharing their talents and skills with us, we are able to increase our capacity to help transform communities. We thank the builders for their commitment and dedication to making Home Builders Blitz 2012 a success.”
