Iowa Department on Aging (IDA) reached out to fellow Iowans who may be, or know someone, who is 100 years old or older, and if they do, to contact the Iowa Department on Aging so that they can be added to the Iowa Centenarian Registry and honored at the annual Centenarian Honors Celebration in October.
Any Iowan born in 1913 (or before and not yet on the Iowa Centenarian Registry) qualifies for this milestone recognition. Per capita, Iowa ranks third in the nation in
the number of centenarians.
If you, a family member, neighbor or friend, has or will reach this important milestone, please contact the Iowa Department on Aging at: 515/725-3333 or toll-free 800/532-3213. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, there are 846 centenarians in Iowa.
