Iowa State Representative Kevin Koester (R- Ankeny) was recently recognized as an outstanding legislator by the Iowa Physician Assistant (PA) Society at their Fall Conference in Coralville, Iowa.
“Representative Koester has become a leader in improving access to quality health care,” said Laura Delaney, President of the Iowa PA Society. Laura is a PA and assistant professor who teaches at Des Moines University and practices at the Bilgi Children’s Clinic in Ankeny. “Representative Koester is a legislative leader who recognizes a problem, consults with constituents, and then acts to make a difference. That is how he led the way to passage of legislation that improves access to medical care by encouraging physician – PA team practice, especially in small towns.”
“I am honored to receive this award,” said Rep. Koester. “I will continue to listen to my constituents and work hard to serve the best interests of Iowans.”
