Join seasoned coaches and cheerleaders as they teach intermediate skills to future cheerleaders at the Ankeny Parks and Recreation Cheerleading Camp. Children in grades three through seven are encouraged to attend camp to learn and participate in stunts and cheers. Participants will also learn proper cheerleading terminology.
The classes are held on Monday and Wednesday nights starting June 3 through July 10. Grades three and four will meet from 5:30 - 6:30 pm and fifth through seventh grade will meet from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Classes will be held at Northwest Elementary, located at 1202 West 1st Street. Students will perform at All-City Play Day on July 10. Registration fee is $35 for residents and $42 for non-residents and includes a t-shirt. Registration is available online or at the Parks and Recreation office, 210 South Ankeny Blvd. Deadline to register is May 20.
