Tumbling classes offered through Ankeny Parks and Recreation

Learn the basics of tumbling in Parent/Child Tumble Tots and Tumble Tots this spring. Both programs will be offered by the Ankeny Parks & Recreation Department. Girls and boys three to five years of age can participate. Participants must be of the required age before the program begins.

Parent/Child Tumble Tots

With the help from a parent or guardian, three year olds will learn about flexibility and balance through many activities like hopping, skipping, running and more. Hand-eye coordination is another motor skill movement that is practiced throughout the sessions as kids take their first steps to combine music and motion. Class size is limited to 12 participants. A parent must accompany their child at each session. Classes are offered twice a week on either Tuesday or Thursday nights and are from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.

Tumble Tots

Tumble Tots is offered for four and five year olds who will learn the basics of tumbling. Forward rolls, backward rolls and walking on a balance beam will be incorporated throughout each session. Class size is limited to 12 participants and is offered on Tuesday or Thursday night from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m.
The Tuesday night session will be held from May 21 through June 25 and the Thursday session will be from May 16 through June 20. All classes are held at the Lakeside Center, 400 NW Lakeshore Drive. The registration fee for both classes is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. To register for either of these programs, stop by the Parks & Recreation Office at 210 South Ankeny Blvd or register online at www.ankenyiowa.gov.
