Ankeny Baseball Player Makes First Roster for Team USA

One Ankeny baseball player could be representing Team USA in the International Baseball Federation World Cup in Taiwan.

Keaton McKinney, a junior, is one of 40 on the roster on the 18-and-under squad, according to the Des Moines Register. 

McKinney is a first baseman and pitcher for the Hawks.

McKinney will try to make the team’s final 20-man roster during another series of games and evaluations in August, the article said. The final 20 names on that roster will head to Taiwan to compete for Team USA.
