Ankeny Brings Home Class 4A State Baseball Title
After defeating Fort Dodge, the Hawks baseball team nabbed its first title since 1992.

It would be hard to argue that July was a good month for Ankeny athletics.
On Saturday night, the top-ranked Ankeny Hawks baseball team defeated Fort Dodge, 10-0, to bring home the Class 4A state baseball championship, according to scores reported by the Des Moines Register. The Hawks join the girls softball team, which also recently brought home the first Class 5A title.
Ankeny became the sixth school in state history to win a title in softball and baseball during the same year, the Register reported. The Hawks finished the season with 43 victories.
