Ankeny City Council Will Discuss Vicious Dog Ordinance: This and More in Ankeny's Five Things for Monday

1) City Council Planning Session is Tonight

The Ankeny City Council will meet in a special planning session tonight at 5 p.m. at . On the agenda? Discussion of an amendment to the city's vicious dog ordinance. This ordinance also has come before the council in two separate dog bite cases this year. Our coverage of those cases can be found below.

2) Ribbon Cutting for The Soil Kitchen

will be held today for The Soil Kitchen, a new business in Ankeny located at 637 S. Ankeny Blvd. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and see what The Soil Kitchen has to offer the community.

4) On Deck for Tomorrow

Kirkendall Public Library will hold a book discussion tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. This month's title is "At Home in Mitford" by Jan Karon. This book is the first novel in Mitford's series chronicling the everyday eccentricities of a small North Carolina town.

Books are available at the library and everyone is welcome to attend.
