Ankeny Community Theatre Debuts ‘The Dixie Swim Club’ This Weekend
Shows will be held Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons, June 7-23.

The Ankeny Community Theatre will debut its newest production, “The Dixie Swim Club” this weekend.
Directed by Dawn Hockemeyer, the show will run each weekend through June 23. Showtimes will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
The play is described as a comedy and drama, according to ACT’s website.
Five Southern women, who were friends on their college swim team, meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks every August. The Dixie Swim Club begins when the ladies are 40 and follows them over the next 30 as they rely on each other more and more to get through the challenges that life throws their way. It is a hilarious and touching show about friendships that will last no matter what. Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.
The cast includes Ruthellen Cunnally (Ames), Joyce Allen (Ankeny), Karey Meysenburg (Urbandale), Susie Randall (Des Moines East) and Barbara Merrill Wagner (Des Moines West).
The theater is at 1923 S.W. Third St. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors age 60 and older; and $10 for students ages 5-18.
To reserve seats, call 515-964-5007 and leave a message or email tickets@ankenycommunitytheatre.com.
