- Take the kids to Westwood Elementary School at 10 a.m. Monday morning for . Kids and adults alike will be entertained by balloon artist Daniel Poe as he twists colorful balloons into recognizable characters, incredible wearables and comical sculptures.
- Take the kids to time on Tuesday at . Craft time begins at 1 p.m., and also will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
- The library summer reading program also will be holding its weekly movie Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Northview Middle School cafeteria. This week's movie is "Yogi Bear."
- , sponsored by the Ankeny Register & Press Citizen, will bring both the Ankeny Community Band and Community Chorus to the Wagner Park band shell on Thursday. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
- On Friday night, Wagner Park also will be home to this week's . This week's show is "March of the Penguins," and begins at 8 p.m.
- The will be held Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. Come support your favorite young athletes as they swim laps, bike and run across the finish line at the track. The triathlon will kickoff at .
- On Saturday, the annual Albaugh Classic car show will return to 1525 NE 36th St. from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Register your own personal car in the show from 7-10 a.m. Spectators can see the cars of those who enter the classic, as well as Dennis Albaugh's personal collection of over 145 classic Chevrolets.
