Ankeny Hawkettes Advance to Iowa High School State Softball Tournament

Ankeny once again has its sights set on another high school state championship.

The varsity softball team advanced to the state tournament following a 6-0 victory over Fort Dodge in a Class 5A regional final Tuesday night. 

The Hawkettes, 32-10, will defend their title starting Monday in the quarterfinal round of the Iowa High School state softball tournament, according to the Des Moines Register. They play Cedar Rapids Prairie (28-14) at 5 p.m.

All state softball games will be played at  Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge, located at 1628 Nelson Ave.

The semifinals are Thursday, July 25 at 7 and 7:30 p.m. The final is Friday, July 26 at 7 p.m.
