Ankeny Hawkettes Advance to Iowa State Volleyball State Semifinals
The Hawkettes defeated Johnston Wednesday in the Class 5A first round match.
The Ankeny Hawkettes volleyball team is moving on the Class 5A girls state volleyball semifinals.
The Hawkettes defeated Johnston today 25-18, 25-23, 25-18 at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
Top performers for the Hawkettes included Jaali Winters and Megan Ballenger with 7 kills, and Jenny Roberts and Katie Roberts with 12 and 11 assists, respectively.

The semifinals will be played Friday at 12 p.m. The Hawkettes will play the winner of the Dowling Catholic/Iowa City High School matchup, which started at 4:30 p.m.
