Ankeny Hawkettes Upset by Iowa City High in State Volleyball Semifinals
The Hawkettes fell to City High after four sets in Friday's game, ending the season for top-ranked Ankeny.
The Ankeny Hawkettes volleyball team's final season as one came to a bittersweet end this afternoon.
While the Hawkettes made it all the way to the Iowa High School State Volleyball tournament, they fell today to Iowa City High School after a four-set matchup in the Class 5A semifinal round.
City High came out on top, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.

Top performers for the Hawkettes included Jaali Winters and Megan Ballenger with 15 and 10 kills, respectively. Katie Roberts and Jenny Roberts led in assists with 20 and 16.
