Ankeny Hawks Advance Over Sioux City East, Full List Iowa High School Football Playoffs Scores

The Ankeny Hawks are one step closer to the Dome tonight after a home victory against Sioux City East in round two of the Iowa High School Class 4A Playoffs.

The top-ranked Hawks rolled past the Black Raiders, 45-10, remaining undefeated as the team notched its record up to 11-0.

The Hawks scored first with 8:39 left in the first quarter, following up the points with a 47-yard touchdown pass to Ian Begg by quarterback Joel Lanning. A 37-yard field goal by Heath Naylor put the Hawks to 17-0 at the end of the first.

Ankeny continued to put points on the board throughout the second quarter, closing the half at 31-10 after a 71-yard touchdown by Marshall Clark.

The Hawks will advance to the quarterfinals and will take on West Des Moines Valley, who defeated Johnston tonight in a 42-17 victory. The teams will play Friday night, location to be determined.
