Ankeny Hawks Have a New Head Football Coach

Jerry Pezzetti's replacement comes to Ankeny High School with nine years experience as an offensive coordinator for a rival team. This will be his first head coaching job.

After 43 years, the Ankeny Hawks have a new head football coach.

Brad Zelenovich, offensive coordinator for rival Southeast Polk, confirmed to the Des Moines Register today he will take over head coaching duties for the Ankeny Hawks football team for the 2013-14 school year.

Zelenovich spent ten years as an assistant coach with the Rams, the article said. He will replace long-time coach Jerry Pezzetti, who will coach at Ankeny Centennial High School next year after leading the Hawks to a state championship in November.
