The Ankeny Jaycees presented a donation to the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce for $12,500 from funds raised by the Jaycees at the leisure garden at Ankeny Summerfest this summer. The Ankeny Jaycees have operated the leisure garden at Ankeny Summerfest for more than 30 years and are proud to help with Ankeny's signature community event while investing the funds raised in the leisure garden for projects like the Prairie Ridge Sports complex, community groups like Project Fresh Start and initiatives like adopting needy families for Christmas through the Ankeny Home Builders "I would like to thank the 110 plus volunteers that gave more than 1100 hours of their time to help out at the leisure garden this past summer. The Jaycees have a long tradition of operating the leisure garden at Summerfest and we've already begun planning for the 2014 Summerfest!" said Ankeny Jaycees Chairman and VP of Summerfest Ben Banowetz.
