Ankeny Kiwanis Club's Operation Underwear Donates Clothing

A record number of items were donated to help Ankeny children in need.

The Ankeny Kiwanis Club’s “Operation Underwear” fall clothing drive received donations from the Modern Woodmen of America, Action Accents, and numerous patrons of the Kirkendall Public Library and Ankeny Community Education, according to a news release from Ankeny Schools.

A record 972 items of children’s socks, underwear, shirts and sweatpants were donated to Ankeny school nurses and The Ankeny Klothing Exchange (T.A.K.E), the release said.

These items were collected in both the Kirkendall Public Library and Ankeny Community Education Office through the end of October.
