ANKENY LIONS CLUB-THANK YOU

Ankeny Lions Club would like to Thank the Ankeny Community for their generous donations in our "CANDY DAYS" fundraiser event over the weekend of May 3rd and 4th held at the Ankeny Fareway and Hy-Vee stores.  The monies collected from this fundraiser help support the following service projects:

·      Ankeny’s Dollars for Scholars (this year the Club sponsored four $500 scholarships to graduating Ankeny HS and Centennial HS students)

·      Ankeny preschool and day care vision screening (1,819 children screened this past year)

·      Eye glasses and hearing aid assistance (provided to both school children and adults in the community)

·      Collection of and recycling of eye glasses and hearing aids (these make their way to third world countries for vision correction)

·      Leader dog raising/training

·      Iowa Lions Foundation

·      Iowa Lions Eye Bank

·      Vision research efforts

·      Lions humanitarian programs around the world
