Ankeny Little League All-Stars Bring Home Championship, Earn a Trip to Regionals
The team will compete in the 2013 Central Regional Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

With a 6-3 win over Dubuque North on Sunday, July 14, the Ankeny American League All-Stars captured the Iowa Intermediate State Championship title.
The team earned a trip to compete in the 2013 Central Regional Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan which begins on Saturday, July 20.
Other states competing in this Regional are Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. The winner of the Central Region will then move on to compete in the Inaugural 50/70 Intermediate Little League World Series in Livermore, California.
The boys that will be representing our State Championship team are Peyton Agan, Easton Becker, Drake DeAngelo, Payton Fay, Jayce Goergen, Riley Heilskov, Clark Hood, Evan Lyons, Sean McDermott, Josh Meador, Nicholas Sash and Cody Wolfe. Coaches are Kevin Fay, Shawn Wolfe and Ed Meador.

“The coaching staff has been very proud of the hard work the players have put in the last three weeks during practices and games. We have honestly seen significant contributions from EVERYONE on the team which has led to our recent success,” said American League All-Star Manager Kevin Fay.
“I congratulate them on their accomplishment of winning State. Going to the Central Regional finals is an opportunity to play the best team from each state in the Midwest and advance to play the in the World Series in Livermore, California," said Rob Van Corler, Ankeny Little League Board President. "I wish them well and am proud that they will represent Iowa and Ankeny Little League with their hard work and sportsmanship.”
