Ankeny Park And Ride Lot Closed, Relocated Until Summer 2021

The City will offer programming at the center in the evenings and on weekends for residents of all ages.

The Ankeny Park & Ride lot, located at 201 NW Ash Drive, will be closed beginning Tuesday morning, July 28, 2020 through Summer 2021 as construction begins for the new Ankeny Senior Community Center. The High Trestle Trail remains open and the DART Hawkeye Park & Ride bus stop will continue to operate. DART bus patrons and trail users are directed to utilize the parking lot at the Ankeny Market & Pavilion (AMP) alternatively, located to the south across West First Street.

The Ankeny Senior Community Center is a joint project with the Polk County Board of Supervisors, expected to be completed in the fall of 2021. The new facility will be built next to Fire Station No. 1, between West First Street and NW Ash Drive, on land owned by the City south of Hawkeye Park. Polk County will use the facility to provide senior services consistent with the County’s other metropolitan area facilities. The City will offer programming at the center in the evenings and on weekends for residents of all ages.
