Jodie: First off, I love my job and what I do! I LOVE newborns! Everything about them – from their squishy back rolls, to their peach fuzz, to the tiny little details. I prefer scheduling them in studio within the first six days of life or earlier. They are only that little for a little while so you have to capture them early. I also love watching my tiniest little clients grow with me in front of the lens, from newborn to the toddler stages. Every child and session is different and that's what I love about it. I also love shooting families and high school seniors.
What inspired you to start this business?
My husband, Wade, and I have a 6-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter. When I had my first child, children grow and change so fast and I wanted to help capture these memories and moments.
Why Ankeny?
I moved here with my parents when I was a junior in high school. I met my Prince Charming at Menard's, where we were both employed. We started our family five years later. Ankeny is a great growing community to with many opportunities to offer.
What makes your business unique and stand out above others?
I strive to capture the moment and make every session as unique as my client. I have many fellow photographer friends around the community, and it's always nice to have a great support system.
What do you enjoy most about getting out of bed and doing this everyday?
I love meeting new faces. Every session is unique in its own way.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I am blessed to be doing something everyday that I love. I am a member of Professional Photographers of Iowa, Newborn Photographers Association, and the Tiny Light Foundation. I appreciate and value the support from the local community that has gotten me where I am today, and to be your chosen photographer.
I will be hosting a grand opening event on Sunday, March 10, from 1-4 p.m. There will be drawings and prizes. I hope to see many of you there!
