Ankeny Man Charged With Breaking Into Apartment

An Ankeny man is facing charges after he broke into a woman’s apartment and fell asleep in her bed.

At about 8:20 p.m. on Nov. 2, police were called to an apartment at 1901 W. First St. after the woman who lives in the unit came home to find 38-year-old Jeffrey H. Calhoun of Ankeny asleep in her bed.

The door of the apartment was damaged, said Ankeny police Capt. Joe Schaffer, so it is presumed Calhoun forced the door open to enter the apartment. Nothing was reported stolen.

Calhoun was under the influence of alcohol at the time, Schaffer said.

According to police records, both Calhoun and the victim lived in the same building, but in different apartments.

Calhoun is being charged with third-degree criminal mischief and trespassing. He was transported to Polk County Jail, but records no longer indicate he is in custody.

Sean E. Carnahan, 18, Des Moines, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 109 S.E. Oralabor Road.

Scott W. Kreimeyer, 38, Ankeny, was charged with domestic abuse assault with injury following an incident at 1142 S.W. Lynn Drive.

Nov. 6

Tina M. Jamez, 39, Des Moines, was charged with fifth-degree theft and third-degree fraudulent practice following an incident at 2505 S.E. Delaware Ave.

Chase F. Maher, 21, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Southeast Delaware Avenue.

Brad R. Parcher, 35, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the 3000 block of North Ankeny Boulevard.

Nov. 7

Anthony G. Stoner, 31, Ankeny, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 1602 W. First St.

Nov. 8

Shayne M. Patterson, 24, Carlisle, was charged with driving while barred and causing property damage by car accident following an incident near the intersection of Southeast Hulsizer and Oralabor roads.

Nov. 9

Regionald A. Parish, 47, Ankeny, was charged with driving while barred and no insurance following a traffic stop near the intersection of Northwest Ninth and State streets.

Nov. 10

Michael E. Fanning, 25, Des Moines, was charged with second-degree burglary following an incident at 2013 W. First St.

Raymond E. Shocknesse, 20, Ames, was charged with fifth-degree theft following an incident at 1825 N. Ankeny Blvd.

Police responded to 201 S.W. Linden St. for a report of third-degree burglary of a vehicle.
