Ankeny's Barefoot Chic Boutique Will Save You Green to Be Green This St. Patrick's Day

This St. Patrick's Day, Ankeny's Barefoot Chic Boutique is making sure local women can celebrate in green for a little less this year.

The women's clothing shop is holding a special St. Patrick's Day sale this Saturday, said Traci Houghton, owner of Barefoot Chic. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the store will offer a 17 percent discount off any green item in the store.

What kind of green items does the boutique sell? Just about anything, Houghton said, including green dresses, pants, jeans and tops.

In addition to the sale, the store will also serve refreshments to shoppers. Houghton said she hosted a similar event last year.

"This is kind of like our official kickoff to spring," Houghton said. "And we like to be thankful and appreciative (to our customers), which is why we hold events like this."
