Ankeny's Veridian Credit Union to Showcase Student Artwork This Week

The annual ArtShare Premiere will be held Thursday night and will highlight work from Ankeny High School students.

Select students from Ankeny High School will have the opportunity to share their work with family, friends and the community at the annual ArtShare Premiere.

Veridian Credit Union will host its annual event on Thursday, January 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 1201 S. Ankeny Blvd. in Ankeny.

The public is also invited to attend the premiere. There is no cost to attend, and hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

There are 28 original works of art by Ankeny High School students on display at Veridian. Each piece is selected for the program by Ankeny High School Art Department leaders. Mediums range from digital photography and graphic design to paintings and pottery.

“ArtShare affords our students the rare and important opportunity to showcase their work in a public forum,” said Dave Zuck, Ankeny High School Art Teacher. “Students take a lot of pride in seeing their pieces professionally displayed and sharing them with their community.”

The ArtShare Premiere in Ankeny is held in conjunction with the Ankeny Chamber’s January Business After Hours event. The works of art will continue to be on display through December 2013 and can be viewed anytime during regular business hours.

Lauren Beauchamp, Alex Bloom, Brett Bolte, Lindsey Broadhead, Naoma Byrnes, Rachel Cahill, Kortni Carico, Kim Ellis, Mary Frein, Hanna Goins, Sarah Hanson, Madison Hemphill, Samantha Hoff, Amanda Leach, Mallory Majors, John Martin, Taylor Mauch, Dante Mautino, Elizabeth Pritchard, Jordan Raineri, Mallory Smith, Alyssa Sporrer, Megan Thompson, Gabrielle Weatherwax, Taylor Wiebel, Sarah Wright, MacKailey Yetter and Madison Yetter.
