Shafer Said He Will Be Voice of Fiscal Responsibility in Ankeny School Board Re-election

The next Ankeny school board election will be held Sept. 10, 2013.

Ankeny school board member Todd Shafer has announced plans to seek re-election, according to the Des Moines Register.

Shafer has been on the board since 2009. He currently serves as board vice-president.

The Ankeny school board election will be held Sept. 10. According to the school district's website, three board members are up for re-election this year, including Shafer, George Tracy, and Pat Cahill.

“I made the decision to seek a second term on the Ankeny school board so I can continue to be a voice for fiscal responsibility, academic excellence and community cooperation in education,” Shafer told the newspaper.

Shafer is originally from Marion and has lived in Ankeny since 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Upper Iowa University and a Master of Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University.

He is employed as the vice president of Supplier Engagement Group with Wells Fargo. Prior to Wells Fargo, he served in various director positions in supply chain management and engineering construction.
