Ankeny School District Names New Girls Basketball Coach
A longtime Ankeny resident will take over after the coach slated to lead the Hawkettes stepped down last week.

The Ankeny school district has named a new head coach for the Ankeny High School girls basketball team after the person originally hired stepped down before the season began.
Brent Walker, a Grand View assistant women’s basketball coach, will be the new head coach for the Hawkettes, according to the Des Moines Register.
Walker is a longtime Ankeny resident, the article said. He will replace head coach Scott DeJong, who is moving to Ankeny Centennial this year to lead the girls basketball team there.
Last week, Kelsey Bolte, who was slated to replace DeJong, stepped down from the position.
