Ankeny Show Choir Raffling Off iPads, High-Def TVs in Fundraiser

Visual Adrenaline, Ankeny High School’s varsity show choir, is selling raffle tickets to support their trip to Florida in March 2013, according to a news release from the school district.

The group will compete in the Fame Show Choir National Championship Series at Universal Studios in Orlando, vying for the top spot with more than 100 groups from across the nation. Raffle prizes include:

• Two iPads (16GB and 32GB, each with Wi-Fi),
• 32” HD television
• 42" High Definition Television 

The drawing will be held Dec. 19 at ; ticket holders do not need to be present to win, the release said.

Members of the choir will sell tickets door-to-door in the coming weeks. Tickets will also be available at home varsity football games; at the Fall Show Choir Classic, Nov. 10-11; and at Festival of Choirs, Dec. 1-2.

“It takes a big effort to get the choir, our show band, and all of our equipment to Florida, so we really appreciate the support we get from the community,” said Lester Miller, director of Visual Adrenaline and the AHS choral music program.

Ankeny residents can get a sneak peek at Ankeny High School’s 2012-13 show choirs at the Fall Show Choir Classic, to be held Nov. 10 and 11 at AHS. Tickets for the two performances will be available Nov. 5.

The all women's group Intensity and the mixed audition group Perpetual Motion are directed by Lisa Kelsey. Visual Adrenaline, the variety mixed audition group, is directed by Lester Miller III.
