Sophomore Garrett Schaeffer took fourth as an individual while leading the Ankeny boys bowling team to an eighth-place finish in its first-ever state tournament appearance last week, reports the Des Moines Register.

Friedman, a 6-foot-10 senior center, was named to the Class 4-A first team by the Des Moines Sunday Register last week after earning second-team honors last year.

Last month, Nikkie Inskeep, senior goalkeeper on the Ankeny girls soccer team, signed a letter of intent to play for South Dakota State, reports the Register.
Inskeep was a second-team all-state selection as a junior, when she helped Ankeny to a 20-1 record and a runner-up finish in the Class 3-A state tournament, according to the article. She was also named to the CIML Central Conference second team.

Ian Baskins, a senior on the Ankeny boys bowling team, was chosen as the Des Moines Register's Ankeny Prep of the Week.
Baskins helped the Ankeny boys’ bowling team to an eighth-place finish in the Class 2-A state tournament on March 12 at Plaza Lanes.
