Ankeny Unplugged - Max Jury, GoodcaT, Jacey

Located a block away from the High Trestle Trail, Ankeny
Unplugged is a series of concerts Saturday evenings in June (7th, 14th, 21st,
and 28th) from 6:00-9:00 pm (doors at 5:00 pm) at the Ankeny Bandshell in Wagner Park. There are 12 amazing
local, regional, and national bands; great Iowa (and other) beer; awesome food;
vendors; other entertainment; and good times for all ages!

If you’re looking for an opportunity to hop on the High
Trestle Trail and pay Ankeny a visit this summer, Ankeny Unplugged is a great reason
to stop by!

Cost is $5 at the door per event for those 18 years and older.

The series is designed to:

• Bring
  original music, art, and culture to the community that is otherwise not
  present in Ankeny.


• Provide
  a venue in Ankeny for local artists and musicians to showcase their
  talent.


• Help
  build a stronger sense of local pride in the Ankeny community.


• Give
  free exposure through a popular venue to other local non-profit
  organizations to further their respective causes.


• Offer
  a safe, low-cost, and enjoyable experience for community members and families
  with or without children.


• Raise
  funds for various local community projects and charities through food and
  beverage sales, space rental, gate entry fees, and donations.


• Be
  ridiculously awesome.

MAX JURY

Just 21 but undeniably an old soul, Max Jury comes on like the missing link between Gram Parsons and George Harrison, shot through with the grace of James Blake. An impeccable song-crafter, he's got one foot in the cornfields and the other in the nearest dive bar whilst his fingers skip across the keys of his Fender Rhodes. An Iowa native, he binds together timeless themes of the struggles of being young, drinking the bottle dry and love lost and found with a small town perspective, topped off an airy croon that's bound to break as many hearts as it heals.

GOODCAT

GoodcaT is a musical group who's goal is to weave the raw emotional expression found in the Folk Tradition, into a groovy genre bending original sound. Whether you hear a drum skin, a violin string, or a wah pedal, expect every sound to say something creative as each song develops.

JACEY

Singer/songwriter, Jacey is a sweet blend of spiritual/pop/folk. She was born and raised in Norwalk Iowa. Her love of music started at a tender age of 3 years. She learned to play various instruments such as piano, violin, and drums and recently taught herself the guitar. She may be a quiet young lady but her voice comes through in her writing. She has spent time in Tijuana, Mexico working with a missions group. Her love of people and service has started to show in her latest work.
