Ankeny Unplugged Kicks Off This Weekend with The Giving Tree Band, More

This weekend marks the first of four weeks of live music held in Ankeny's Wagner Park, courtesy of the Ankeny Jaycees.

It may not be summer quite yet, but that won't stop live music lovers from heading out to Ankeny's Wagner Park this Saturday for the inaugural concert of this year's Ankeny Unplugged.

Head to the band shell on June 1 from 5-9 p.m. to see a full line-up of bands including headliner The Giving Tree Band.

Also playing are Andy Fleming (of Brother Trucker), Har-di-Har, and The High Crest.

Ankeny Unplugged is held each Saturday in June. Tickets are $3 for adults. Children 12 and under get in free.

Live performances are accompanied by an art and craft market as well as food and beverage vendors.

New this year will be the official AU after-party held at Jethro's BBQ Lakehouse, located at 1425 S.W. Vintage Pkwy., following each concert. Bring your Olde Main AU beer mug for great deals on draws.

See the full lineup for this season on Ankeny Unplugged's website.
