Ankeny Youth Triathlon, Family Fun Night at Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center, Summer Sounds Concert Series

There's a lot of things happening in Ankeny this week, many of which you won't want to miss.

So to make your life easier, we at Patch are offering up a few must-see or do events for the week. 

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince
When & Where: Tuesday, 1 p.m. Kirkendall Public Library

Summer Sounds Concert Series
When & Where: Thursday, 7 p.m. Wagner Park Bandshell

The Summer Sounds Concert Series is held on Thursday nights in the 'Shell in Wagner Park.  Live music will run from 7-8:30 p.m.  The concerts are free and open to the public; bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. This week's performance is a joint concert between the Ankeny Community Chorus and the Ankeny Community Band.

Ankeny Youth Triathlon
When & Where: Saturday, 8:30 a.m. Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center

Swim, bike and run in the 7th Annual Ankeny Youth Triathlon. Swim laps in the Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center, bike around the Sports Complex and run through the finish line at Prairie Ridge Middle School track. A bike helmet is required for the bike portion of the event. Kids of all levels are encouraged to compete. Awards will be handed out, but everybody that completes is a winner.

A participation meeting will be held Thursdsay, July 25 at 7 p.m., at the shelter east of the Aquatic Center and attendance is highly recommended.

Family Fun Night
When & Where: Sunday, 5 p.m. Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center

Bring out the whole family to Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center on Sunday evenings! Families of up to four members get in for $10. Join us June 9, June 23, July 14 and July 28 for Family Fun Nights!

When & Where: Monday, 6:30 p.m. Faith Baptist Bible College

Heat will be holding basketball tryouts for the upcoming 2013-2014 basketball season for grades 2-8th girls/ and boys at Faith Baptist College in Ankeny on July 22-23rd. Please go to www.heatathleticsiowa.com for tryout times for specific grades.

Ankeny Chamber July Membership Luncheon

When & Where: Thursday, 11:30 a.m. Pinnacle Club at Otter Creek Golf Course
